*Walks over to the table and sits a mug of hot spiced apple juice in front toni to help warm her up, knowing she prefers that to tea*

"Morning Nanty! It looks nice out there but its chilllyyyy!"
*looks round the table an says good morning to Willa, Iona an the kikibrat as well*

"You're welcome, Kiki," I answer when she thanks me, smoothing her curls and kissing the side of her head before setting her in the chair.
I'm about to answer about Toni still sleeping when Willa says she's outside with the dogs. "She'll be in soon, then," I reply easily before hearing Iona's comment that something smells good. "Thank you, Sweetheart. We'll be eating as soon as Toni gets in," I assure everyone.
Then I see Toni frozen at the door to the kitchen and chuckle a little bit. "There she is! Happy Birthday, Toni. Come and have a seat." Going over to her I put my arm around her and usher her to her place, rubbing her arm and hugging her to my side to help warm her.

*Looking over my shoulder at Iona, still trying to get my head round the new look, having not seen her with anything but purple hair, at least since we were tiny,I answer her question as i finish making tea for everyone*

*Smiles softly and leans back into Nantys hug as i say good morning, relieved that no-ones making a fuss over the change in look. Glancing round i look questioningly at Nanty*
"Don't tell me the birthday brats still sleeping?"
*Heading for the fridge i grab myself a glass of juice and take a seat at the table*

Iona Jolene Manning
Iona is 14 years old. Eldest of her siblings. She has 2 sisters, toni and kiki, and a brother, JT, but her brother hs been adopted by another family.
Iona was seperated from her siblings when she was sent to live with her father in scotland as her mother was ill and could no longer look after them. Her sisters went to live with Tonis father, DST, who was also Kikis grampa as her father was DST'S eldest son. For a time JT also lived with them but it didn't work out, so he was fostered and eventually adopted by his foster family.
Iona lived with her father until recently, having lost contact with her siblings due to them ending up in care when DST became too old to cope. Contact was recently re-established with her siblings after her sister, toni, found her contact details after being reunited with her Nanty who took them out of care to live with her. This coincided with Iona having been in trouble after managing to set a fire at her school and, after her new stepmother threatened to have her sent away to boarding school, Iona hopped on a plane and turned up on her Aunts doorstep out of the blue.
After some prolonged discussion, it was decided that Iona would be better staying with her aunt siblings and cousin.
The entire family recently moved to a new town for a fresh start after Ionas Aunt was offered a teaching post in Lochside, Which just happened to be the town where her daughters father had grown up and was a place that they had always intended living, had circumstances been different.

Willa Rose McIntyre
Willa is 16 years old. She is called after her father, who was William Mcintyre. William died when Willa was still just young, so for most of her life it has just been her and her mother. All her life until their recent move to lochside she and her mother lived in the same house her parents had bought after their marriage. Because she was so young when her father died, Willas memories of her father himself are poor, but the house had many assosciations with him - such as the cherry tree in the backyard her parents planted when she was born.
Having had it just be her and her mother for most of her life, Willa is struggling a little with suddenly being landed with three sibling/cousins, Not used to being the "big sister" or having to share her mother - and not entirely sure if she likes it!

Antonia Jody Corrie Annabelle Manning
Antonia, who goes by the name toni or toni-jody, is a ten year old tomboy. She rarely goes anywhere unacompanied by her 2 dogs, Belle and Nala. Toni is animal daft and owns many different animals, due mainly to her father being somewhat indulgent and buying her pretty much any animal she had set her mind on.
Toni has three siblings that she grew up with on her mothers side, Iona kiki and jt, and many many many on her fathers side, most of whom where already adults by the time toni was born, including her sister, kikis, father bob. The majority of these siblings toni doesnt really know, kikis father having disappeared from the scene almost before kiki was born. The exception to this being her sisters Liz, Rosie and Kiely. Toni and Rosie are Dsts youngest children, although since their father couldn't cope rosie has been adopted by another family as has JT.
When their father could no longer cope, Toni was given the option of living with her sister Liz, but Liz wasn't prepared to take on kiki as well and toni chose to go into care with her lil sister instead. This is where Toni's nanty found them, having only just found out about their mothers illness after losing contact with the family for a time. Having re-established contact with the girls Corrie became their legal guardian and the girls came to live with Corrie and their cousin Willa.
Tonis other sister, Kiely, also has close ties with Corrie due to past history and when Corrie and the girls moved to theier new town Kiely and her girls also chose to up sticks andmove along with them.
Toni is a complete bookworm. She will rarely be seen without a book or her kindle in her hands, and has a tendancy to read while walking, leading her to a tendancy to walk into and fall over things on occassion! She is very self sufficiant and completelyhappy in her own company, often preferring the world in her books over inteaction with others. She was left very much to her own devices whilst living with her father and as a result can at times become frustrated with the rules set out for her by her Nanty.
Toni spent a lot of her time being homeschooled by her mother along with her sisters and therefore has attended mainstream schooling very little - whilst living with her father he was unaware of whether she attended school or not and toni and her siblings managed to slip through the net when it came to schooling until they wound up in care. Toni does not care for being shut up in a classroom and would rather be out roaming the woods etc with belle and nala at her side. Unfortunatly for Toni, her Nanty is also her teacher!
Toni is petrified of frogs and has a dislike of the dark or confined spaces. She wears glasses and has a mild stammer, which shows mostly when she is afraid or upset. Like her sisters, iona and kiki, she is a natural redhead and has the pale skin and temper that go along with it!- although she is learning to curb the temper some as she gets older.
Toni is wary of people she does not know well, particularly adults, and can be prickly and defensive until she gets to know people. She is very protective of those she considers "hers"
Toni will question everything, this is because she wants to know and understand. This does not always go down well with other adults who think she is being difficult, particularly if she is in trouble with them, but it's more because she wants to understand WHY she is in trouble. Usually once she understands (If its not completely obvious as she is aware that certain actions, such as stealing or lying automatically have consequences) she will be accepting of the consequences, however reluctantly. If, however, she feels she is being punished unfairly she will generally fight the punishment.
Toni has a fear of not being good enough, the loss of first her mother then her father having only reinforced this fear, so she can at times need extra assurance, particularly when she has been "bad" (her choice of word).

*Blowing on my hands cuzz theres still a nip in the air for all thatthe suns shinin, i call to the dogs when i figure they had enough of a run ta let off steam. Ushering them in the house, i stifle a yawn, before heading towards the kitchen, stopping in the doorway, blinking,
as something shiny and pourole catches my eye.
