"You're welcome, Kiki," I answer when she thanks me, smoothing her curls and kissing the side of her head before setting her in the chair.
I'm about to answer about Toni still sleeping when Willa says she's outside with the dogs. "She'll be in soon, then," I reply easily before hearing Iona's comment that something smells good. "Thank you, Sweetheart. We'll be eating as soon as Toni gets in," I assure everyone.
Then I see Toni frozen at the door to the kitchen and chuckle a little bit. "There she is! Happy Birthday, Toni. Come and have a seat." Going over to her I put my arm around her and usher her to her place, rubbing her arm and hugging her to my side to help warm her.
